Chapter 76: Hunting Cave Beasts
I equipped my [Apprentice Robe] and [Manaheart Pendant], while Bob wore his usual ridiculous red cape, along with [Earthwalker Boots] and [Leather Bracers].
"It’s the debut of the double swords," Bob said with a grin. In his right hand was the old [Gaia Sword], and in his left, a newly acquired [Embersteel Sword], an Uncommon-rank weapon he pulled from the [Rise of Heroes] pack. It had a passive ability that gave a chance to burn enemies on hit. The design was sleek, with flame motifs along the hilt. When the blade caught the light, it shimmered in red, a perfect fit for Bob’s flashy style.
"Nice design, isn’t it, Alan?" he said, proudly showing it off.
"It is. But are you sure you want to use it against these... boulder monsters? I doubt you can burn stone," I replied flatly.
"Of course I know that. I just want to use it as a dual blade," he said, brushing off my comment.
I rolled my eyes, then turned my focus to the cave beasts. They varied in size, some about two meters tall, others towering up to five.
"So... how do we attack them?" I asked.
"We just go in. They’re just rock monsters. Probably slow as snails and dumb as bricks." Bob stepped forward toward one of the creatures, which was wandering near a massive stone pillar that stretched from floor to ceiling. The beast scratched at its body, seemingly unaware.
I followed behind him cautiously.
Up above, Beltimore and Alice watched us from their vantage point.
"Don’t they know cave beasts have excellent hearing?" Alice said, raising an eyebrow. She had already cast a yellow spell circle on her left hand, ready to step in if things went south.
