Chapter 33: Disaster In Lily Town
"I can’t wait to pull the new pack. Hope I get at least an SR!" Bob said, hopping along excitedly. Mina was perched on my shoulder this time, looking drowsy, understandable, considering how hard she worked healing both of us today.
"Don’t get your hopes too high, man. It’ll just bounce back and hit you in the face," I said, gently placing Mina onto my hand and softly brushing her tiny body to help her sleep.
We were finally near the East Gate entrance. After a long day of monster hunting, we’d successfully racked up enough BP to hit 2000.
From the elite slime, we obtained an uncommon [Great MP Potion] card and a rare passive skill card [Gel Body]. It reduces physical damage and grants slight resistance to blunt attacks. So far, we’ve earned two passive skills from today’s hunt, not a bad haul for our first real outing.
When we arrived in town, the townspeople greeted us with waves and cheers. We’re quite well known here, ever since we saved Kel. But honestly, I would’ve preferred staying under the radar, it’s more comfortable that way. Bob, on the other hand, acted like a full-blown celebrity, grinning and waving at everyone like he owned the place.
A few minutes later, we entered our room. The fire lamps on the walls were already lit, casting a warm glow that signaled dusk had arrived.
I tossed my backpack onto the bed and sat down, letting out a quiet sigh.
Bob, as usual, couldn’t sit still. He immediately opened his status screen and jumped into the [Shop] tab, eyes sparkling.
"Hmm... which one should I pick?" he said, tapping his chin like he was choosing between two rare desserts.
"What do you actually want? A weapon, skills, or a new class?" I asked, leaning against the wall at a 45-degree angle, legs folded, hands tucked behind my head.
"I don’t really mind, anything SR or higher would be nice. But if I had to choose... I’d prefer a weapon," he replied, eyes glued to the screen as he scrolled through the available packs.
