Chapter 54 Signing of the Contract
After returning to the academy from the Duel Square, Waberlan made his way straight to his personal magic laboratory. It was a large, extravagant house nestled at the heart of the academy grounds—almost as grand in scale as the students’ dormitory blocks, but far more lavishly decorated.
Anyone unfamiliar with the academy might easily mistake it for a dean’s private palace.
The grand villa was heavily protected. Besides a couple of personal servants, no one was permitted entry. Numerous defensive magic arrays surrounded the place, and any unauthorized intrusion would instantly trigger an alert.
A while ago, when Angie was here, Waberlan didn’t allow anyone to come in, leaving only Angie to take care of his daily life.
AJust a few days back, a foolish student had mistakenly wandered into the laboratory. One of the fire-type defense arrays activated instantly, engulfing the room in violent flames. The girl barely managed to summon a magical shield in time. Had Waberlan not deactivated the array quickly, the girl would have been roasted to charcoal.
Rather than punishing her, Waberlan offered her a lewd offer: she could remain in the academy, but only if she agreed to warm his bed.
