Chapter 52 Eve of the Competition
Roger rushed back to the Marquis’s mansion overnight. He didn’t go to see Sophia because he didn’t want to disturb her rest. Instead, he asked the butler Cooper to arrange a room for him. He fell asleep as soon as he got on the bed due to his great physical exhaustion and didn’t get up until noon the next day.
The first thing he did after getting up was to write a letter, explaining Parker’s situation and instructing Randy to arrange someone to teach him basic fighting skills.
After Roger found a smart and capable servant in the Marquis’s Mansion to take the letter to the Hades Mercenary Group.
Walking through the hall, Roger saw Sophia having lunch, so he went in and ate with her. Marquis Marino passed away a week ago. Although Sophia had no feelings for him, they were nominally married after all, and he was also the benefactor who saved the Paglen family, so she organized a funeral for Marquis Marino.
She did a lot of things herself, trying to do her best. Because of the busy period, she looked a little haggard, which made Roger feel distressed.
"The competition will start tomorrow. Are you busy today?" Sophia asked casually, handing him a piece of bread with peanut butter.
"No." Roger took it and took a bite. "Honey, I’ll stay here with you today."
"Keep your word and don’t leave after making me wait for so long." Sophia’s mouth corners rose slightly, and it can be seen that she was very happy.
"Haha, I’m not that kind of person..."
