General Adamu?
The name echoed in Link's mind as he instinctively began piecing together scattered fragments of information. Truth be told, he didn't know much about the Northern Front's command structure, and even Lib, his ever-reliable talent guide, had no intel on this particular general.
Clearly, if this man carried the title of General, he couldn't be just another rank-and-file soldier.
Link frowned slightly and decided to shelve the issue for the time being. After all, with Death Rewind at his disposal, time was always on his side. And considering General Adamu hadn't even bothered to hide his identity, uncovering the truth behind his background was merely a matter of when, not if.
But what troubled Link far more was the secret transaction taking place between General Adamu and that grotesque creature—the Brain Swarm.
For a high-ranking human military officer to betray his own kind and conspire with such a monster... Link had a gnawing feeling that this betrayal might spell a devastating blow for the entire Northern Front. He could almost see it already: the collapse of defenses, the deaths of thousands, the unraveling of years of resistance.
But what were they actually planning?
Link longed to eavesdrop on their discussions—to steal even a single thread of truth. But deep down, he knew it was hopeless. Both Adamu and the Brain Swarm were beings of tremendous power. Sneaking up on them was not just dangerous—it was practically impossible.
Even with his most advanced sensory-enhancement talents, he was like a moth fluttering toward the sun—noticed before he even got close.
