Chapter 1 -1-We Are All Gonna Die
Under the pitch-black night sky, the blood-red Blood Moon hung high above. In the central plaza of Yilan Middle School, a heavy silence loomed.
Headmaster Ximar stood solemnly on the high platform, his face steeped in sorrow. He was rarely seen dressed so formally, clad in a dignified black suit. His voice, amplified by a magical sound array, echoed clearly to every corner of the plaza.
"Students, today we gather here with the deepest grief in our hearts to mourn the loss of our great hero—General Lannis!"
"General Lannis, protector of mankind, the pride of the Yilan Kingdom! Yet today, he fell on the front lines while battling the moonfolk."
"Since the arrival of the moonfolk two hundred years ago, 6,371 human generals have perished on the battlefield. None of them ever turned their backs or sought cowardly survival. They chose, instead, to sacrifice themselves to protect the rest of us!"
"Now, yet another hero has fallen. Students, tell me—what should you do?!"
The young students in the plaza clenched their fists, eyes brimming with tears and burning hatred.
"Kill the moonfolk! Reclaim Thalandor!"
"Kill the moonfolk! Reclaim Thalandor!!"
Their furious roars echoed one after another, a tide of anger swelling through the night.
Headmaster Ximar looked up at the vast, deep sky. Eventually, his gaze fixed upon the ominous Blood Moon.
