His Toxic Addiction

Chapter 405: Lost

"Are you done dear?" Mrs. Wyatt rushed up to Arissa the moment she caught sight of her walking out of the ward.

Standing before Arissa, she gently pulled her into her arms and patted her back gently.

"You look pale," Mrs. Wyatt said in the hug, "Let’s go home so you can rest properly,"

Arissa pulled away from the hug. There were times when Mrs. Wyatt’s care would hurt her and now, they did. Sometimes, Mrs. Wyatt’s care leaves her broken and depressed, wishing she had grown up with such a great amount of love.

She stared at the older woman for a short while before smiling at her. Tiling her head to where Mr. Adams stood professionally, she said, "Right, we should get going. I’d show you the test results and all of it on our way back home."

They had barely walked out of the hospital when a child ran towards her and held her as if his life depended on it.

They were all taken aback, especially Mr. Adams who was all set to drag the boy away from Arissa. However, Arissa felt something was wrong with the boy and paid attention to him.

Arissa smiled when the child held her as if to protect himself. Her hold around the boy became protective and she immediately paid attention to his body language.

"You don’t have to be afraid, I won’t let anyone hurt you," she assured the boy and walked over to the closest bench to sit on. Mrs. Wyatt and Mr. Adams followed behind her.
