Chapter 398: Over The Moon.
Arissa was speechless when she heard those words from Nicklaus. The tiny annoyance in her disappeared, and she hugged Nicklaus with all she had.
"But I’m already involved," she said softly, kissing underneath his arm.
Nicklaus chuckled, "Yes you are. However, you’re not deeply involved yet and that’s why I’m trying my best to pull you out. I want us to live as normal couples," he mentioned.
Arissa pulled her face off Nicklaus’s chest. Crossing her right leg over his legs, she asked, "What makes you think you’ll be asked to marry the Lin heiress to get the shares?"
Nicklaus smiled and brushed a finger against the bridge of her nose. Arissa smiled back and he leaned in closer to her face. Peaking the side of her lips briefly, he dropped another one beside her ear and leaned away.
Helping her to stay comfortable in his arms, he replied to her previous question, "I didn’t think. Their reactions to my marriage and how biased they want to share the shares gave me a good viewpoint of their stance,"
Arissa moistured her lower lips with her tongue. She traced the Nicklaus jawline, "I will miss you," she confessed.
"I’ll miss you too," Nicklaus agreed and almost immediately, he added, "I have a few things to arrange when I get there," he hinted at his reason to stay for an extra two weeks.
"I think it’s time for you to get going," Arissa reminded him in understanding. She saw it in his eyes. She saw how reluctant it was for him to leave her side and it warmed her heart. But even at that, work calls and he has to get going.
