Chapter 384: Precious Gift.
Mrs. Wyatt ran her fingers through Arissa’s hair, gently massaging it as she hummed a soft tune.
The more she hummed, the more Arissa’s face became softer. When Arissa’s expression turned comfortably soft and like one in a deep slumber, she reached for her phone and dialed Nicklaus’s number.
"Arissa is fast asleep, please come and take her to the room to lie properly," she said the moment the call connected. She kept her words straight and hung up immediately.
At the other end, Nicklaus placed the files he was holding to review on the desk and walked towards the door of his study.
"I’ll be back in a few minutes," he said to Mr. Wyatt as he walked towards the door. He reached for the doorknob and walked out of the study.
Mr. Wyatt nodded, "It’s fine," he said behind Nicklaus. Not that Nicklaus heard as he was already long gone, using fast strides.
Arriving in the living room, his steps relaxed when he saw him. He walked toward the couch she slept on with a soft expression. Her side profile looked beautiful and he loved the sight of it.
He kissed his mother’s left cheek, nodded gently at Rue, and gave the cat a side harsh glance before fixing his eyes and whole concentration on the woman who added happiness to his whole existence.
She made his life worth it and now, she carried their child. He has nothing to give to her for completing them. A child blessing them with her presence was everything he would ever ask for. Finally, he has gotten a physically beautiful world and not the dark ones that exist in his mind when he’s all alone.
