His Toxic Addiction

Chapter 300: The News.

As the world struggled with the news about Alfred in the comfort of their friends and families, Richard struggled with the news alone.

The news about his father also aired, making it difficult for him to be able to breathe and finally, he understood Arissa’s point of view. Finally, he understood she was only trying to protect him and at the thought of protecting, his face became red from anger.

Trying to protect him? By keeping him clueless about everything? Was that how she protected the people she loved, by shutting them away from everything? What if she failed and maybe, something happened to her? Would she have died without any of them knowing?

He furiously dropped the coffee mug on the sitting room table and rubbed the tip of his nose in deep thought.

To be honest, he saw reasons in what Arissa did but he would not still side with her to make her feel alright. She would have at least tried to give him a few clues about everything so that he would know how, when, and where to back her up.

The medical report and all she asked about his father led to somewhere and he had finally seen all of it. How was she able to fight a battle as stormy as this without him? In the past, Arissa has never been able to go through a simple stormy night without him.

His hard expression turned into a smile and his eyes became watery. At the moment, he looked like a proud father, and being proud of Arissa was an understatement. He did not know the words to put in but his heart marveled at her thought and his love for her only grew stronger.

Issues about the Lincoln company and who would take over it became a debate between the citizens and media personnel.

It was no surprise the world bearly knew about him and only debated on transferring the company to Adele.
