His Toxic Addiction

Chapter 248: Tiny Pieces Of Love.

Morning came quickly for Arissa. Her soft snores were cut short when the sun’s rays filtered themselves through Nicklaue’s balcony curtains and casted shades of light on her face.

It was surprising to feel the sun, considering it rained last night. Her brows furrowed from her sleep and she turned to the other side of the bed seeking comfort.

However, her eyes shot open when she did not feel the comfort she needed from a particular body.

Her sleepy eyes blinked with haze. She opened her eyes and to her disappointment, no one lay with her.

She sighed softly and touched Nicklaus’s spot and it was cold. So cold like nobody rested on that spot.

She felt the spot more, tapping on it like Nicklaus was inside the sheets. No one was there and it broke her heart he left her all alone.

He promised her last night that he would always be with her. So, what happened now? It was only a few minutes past seven, was his work more important?

Memories of last night played before her face but she began to doubt it. If they shared such a moment earlier, he would have been here with her. She remembered how he even hugged her to sleep.

But she was in his room, laying on his bed and that was another solid reason for her to believe her memory.

She gulped with loneliness and rolled over to his spot. She drew the duvet back to her nose and let his icy scent surround her.

Her head hurt a little which helped in reminding her about what almost happened in her life.
