Chapter 228: Nicklaus Happened.
Logan fixed his eyes on Laura. Unlike her usual unkempt appearance since she arrived here as a captive, she now looked refreshed.
She was back to her normal self and body with only her hand bandages looking out of place in her. She stared straight into Logan’s eyes.
"I’m letting you go," he declared.
Laura frowned and smiled at the same time. He was letting her go, she was supposed to be eager to leave which wasn’t happening because a part of her sensed something more than just him letting her go.
"What’s the catch?" she asked to know what she was getting herself into. "You’re not letting me go for free, are you?"
Logan’s stern gaze turned dark, "Don’t flatter yourself, you are no longer of use," he bluntly downgraded her.
Laura stiffened at his harsh words. She would have said something but she immediately zipped her lips when she remembered more parts of her body could get bandaged if she provoke him with her words.
"Thank_"
"And lest I forget, Adele is awake," he cut her off, "And don’t thank me. My men would still trail after you so get ready to revisit this place for a slight mistake,"
Laura’s bright face turned ugly. Now, the reason why she shouldn’t be so happy offered itself to her. Why would his men still trail behind her? He has all she worked for over the years, why does he still want to enslave her?
She asked in her thought but dared not to say it out. His unsmiling expression was already too much of a warning to her.
