Chapter 132: Arissa was all that mattered to him.
Nicklaus’s phone interrupted him from his sweet thoughts about Arissa. Glancing at the seat beside him, he pressed the answer log as he had to take the important call.
"Daniel?"
"Boss," the other end answered immediately, "We have successfully taken him to a different hideout but we got a problem,".
Nicklaus’s brow creased at the report, "What’s the problem?" he asked as he intensely fixed his gaze on the road.
"Logan got a hold of Laura before we could," the man explained.
Nicklaus nodded, "He thinks she has him," he hinted.
The man at the other end nodded, "Mr. Lincoln has been released. He doesn’t seem like one who escaped as we’ve been watching his every move,"
Nicklaus smiled, "I thought as much. Laura has been creating some havoc and it’s only natural he would send Alfred out to gather some information and resources,"
"Resources were the only reason he still kept Alfred breathing," Nicklaus added.
"Boss," the man called when Nicklaus went silent, "From what we noticed, Laura intended to go after Adele’s parents with camouflage. However, the girl was killed right after she left the Lincoln apartment," the man reported further.
Nicklaus nodded in acknowledgment, "And Mr. Adams?"
