Chapter 125: Back To Strangers.
"Nicklaus," Arissa called as she walked towards her bed, "You are here," she added as she climbed on her bed.
Nicklaus turned to her, though he hid it well, his face brightened up at her sight. Arissa raised her duvet to her waist as she just watched him, waiting for him to speak up.
Nicklaus meets her gaze before walking towards the bed, "The duvets?"
"In my closet," she answered with no plans of standing up, "You can go and get it, it’s on my hammock chair," She gave him permission seeing he was waiting for one.
Nicklaus nodded, "Is something wrong?" he asked seating at the edge of her bed while he watched her with calm eyes and a passive expression.
Arissa was surprised by the question. Yes, something was wrong but how did he know about it and why did he seem to care?
Raising the duvet to her nose, she stared at him. What she’s about to say now would make him mad. It would also hurt her.
Yet, she would say it. Not wanting him to see how hurt she would be while saying it, she let only the tip of her nose and her eyes out of the duvet.
Why am I doing this? Nicklaus asked himself as he patiently sat down, waiting for her to share what made her this moody.
Her moodiness wasn’t obvious because she had her normal indifferent look on but he managed to see through them. The reason why he cares to know was what he couldn’t explain.
Arissa only stared at him in contemplation.
