Chapter 47 — The Strange Tower
A wooden wagon pulled up in front of a towering building, its deep blue walls accented by shades of grey. A few narrow windows gleamed through the wagon’s opening, hinting at the structure’s vastness.
"We should have used a teleportation portal to get inside," Cynthia sighed, her gaze shifting to the dark green-haired man seated across from her. Lucian sat silently beside her, his expression unreadable.
"Atlas has limited range. The distance was too far for him to teleport us directly," Lucian replied, stepping out of the wagon. He extended a hand to Cynthia, who hesitated a moment before taking it.
"Wait here," Lucian instructed Atlas. The man bowed deeply, his figure retreating as the couple turned to face the large tower.
As usual, Atlas focused on sending the necessary letters for his work, preferring the solitude away from humans, whom he found difficult to interact with.
His peaceful time lasted until he received an unexpected visit from the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess.
The Grand Duchess had asked him to teleport them to a location he barely recognized—a land close to Tervland, where there had been a war for ten years.
The exact location of the land was still unknown to many, as not a lot of people were aware of its existence until the war broke out between Selvarys and Eldoria. It was crucial for a magician performing a teleportation spell to be familiar with the destination; otherwise, they risked sending people to the wrong place.

Lucian’s footsteps echoed as he strolled through the mysterious and unfamiliar hallway, looking around, his fist clenched the hilt of his sword.
A few people, who appeared to be mages due to their large white coats, walked past the couple, too busy with their own lives to care about the strangers.
