Chapter 23: Teaching Gion How to Sheathe his sword 18+
~Gion Flashback~
Gion had always been a woman that admired power. Ever since young she had learnt the difference between those that had power and those that did not.
Growing up as a normal citizen can be a harrowing experience, especially when you are in a place or country that has a lot of pirates and ruffians.
Gion's home Cactus island on the Grandline had been destroyed, and she along with others from her hometown became refugees.
It was during that time she learnt how the world works, those who have power have everything and those without power were mere slaves to the strong.
'Pirates destroyed my hometown of Ingo on Gino island, now called cactus Island, and forced us to flee.' It was the beginning of the great age of pirates and all hell broke loose.
Back then I had to always be dirty, not because we couldn't afford water and soap. We simply couldn't afford the price of being clean, because pirates and slavers often times captured and enslaved clean beautiful girls and women.
Eventually my mother and I ended up on a bounty hunter's ship, as my mother seduced a bounty hunter and had him take use with him. On that ship we went from island to island, and we sailed paradise and ended up in West Blue.
It was on this ship that I first saw the power of a sword. No matter how big or scary the pirate, the cold beautiful steel of the sword would always cut them down.
It was a pirate hunter that showed me my first image of justice. A puny villager had no power but the cold steel of a sword could bring evil to it's knees!
'I was fascinated this long hard metal, it had what I sorely desired.....power!' she recalled.
