Chapter 136 - 131: Push it on the way home
After school when the exam was announced, I left the class that had started their strategy meeting and headed to the student council room as instructed in this morning's email. I knocked promptly and was told to enter. Though I'm not a student council officer, I've been to the student council room enough times that I no longer feel nervous about it.
"Hello."
When I entered, the student council president, Nagumo, and vice president, Kiriyama, were already seated. I arrived at the designated time, but the looks they gave me were somewhat dubious.
"Sorry for calling you out like this, Hikigaya."
"No, I'm used to it."
"Is that sarcasm?"
"Being invited to meals by the student council president is something I've experienced many times."
After all, the number of times I've gone out to eat with Nagumo exceeds what I can count on both hands. I'm quite accustomed to it. Nagumo didn't seem to take it as sarcasm and instead smiled contentedly.
"So, what was the reason for calling me here?"
"About that... the reason no longer exists. Or rather, it's disappeared. Right, Nagumo?"
"...Yeah, I guess."
