Chapter 1 : A Dream School or a Nightmare?
I'm currently on a bus heading towards a certain high school.
Advanced Development High School.
Located in Tokyo, established by the Japanese government, it's a school with an almost 100% advancement rate. Students are cut off from external communication for three years, prohibited from leaving the school grounds, and live in dormitories. However, the campus exceeds 600,000 square meters and is said to be like a town, providing a comfortable living environment without any inconvenience.
This high school is dedicated to nurturing talent that will support the future, attracting outstanding individuals.
However, I have doubts about this school. Rather, the story seems too good to be true. If the advancement rate really is 100%, then everything is decided the moment you enter this school. Would the Japanese government really go so far as to create such a sweet deal?
Well, I guess I'll find out soon enough.
Feeling the air inside the rattling bus, I lowered my gaze back to the novel I was reading.
Lost in the novel and forgetting about time, I heard the sound signaling our arrival at the school as I sat on the bus. Stepping off the bus and standing in front of the school gate, I couldn't help but feel slightly dumbfounded by the somewhat oversized school building visible even from outside. I had heard stories, but seeing it in person was different.
"Hey."
Lost in thought, I heard a voice nearby.
"You were staring at me on the bus. What's the deal?"
