Chapter 76 Saving the damsels
Millie’s Point of View
A man… A single man ripped through the men who were here to take us and… He killed them all himself effortlessly enough to joke about it directly after doing so. I looked at the charnel house he made of the hallway when the door was opened, and couldn’t help but feel terrified. Sure, it was better that those men died; the world was a better place with them dead, but it was still terrifying to see.
The other thing I noticed was… God damn, that fucker was handsome. He looked fake, like a real-life version of Fabio, or Arnold from the Terminator movie brought to life, except even more handsome somehow. I couldn’t help but get a lady boner at just the sight of him, looking at my sister and mouthing our famous catch phrase when we saw someone we thought was attractive, ‘shwing’ from Wayne’s World.
She was a lesbian(actually closer to bisexual), but I could see in her eyes that she knew where I was coming from. Mouthing it back to me twice when his two girlfriends walked in behind him. Then the situation got even more out of control as Haley’s girlfriend and one of the girls who had just come ran at each other, crying. It didn’t take a genius to see them and put two and two together that they were related.
He looked at them with a smile on his face before his eyes landed on my sister… Then turned to me, then my sister again, as he put two and two together. Yes, we were, in fact, identical twins. I saw something else when our eyes met; it was recognition, like he knew us from somewhere.
…
We went inside, and Sophia hugged her sister as they cried from happiness, as we stopped them from suffering a terrible fate. I looked at the girl beside her… And recognized her from the crowd(with different hair), but unless she could teleport, how was she in two places at once? Looking back at the girl still standing there, I looked back and forth between them as it finally clicked.
They’re the twins! I knew a tiny bit about what happened here in Pittsburgh, but they were possibly the most famous part of what happened. Both became the showpieces of one of the rulers; his power was mind control, and now that I thought about it… It was probably that guy I put a horn into. I could sense he was a powered, but I assumed he didn’t have a good one this early, so I didn’t bother zombifying him.
I wasn’t sure if I would bother with that power anyway; it just wasn’t as impressive as ice control or a naturally stronger body. It was an intellect-based power, and his intellect would have heavily declined when he was zombified. So, the story went, the man controlled two other powered women. I thought it was the twins, but at this point, it looked like it would be Sophie’s sister and her girlfriend to start; both were powered, and he could control both of them.
At some point, Sophia’s sister would die, at which point, he’d mind-control the twins, one for her power, the other as a plaything. Months later, once the groups had boiled down to most following the same powered individual, this man would be one of the commanders… Then the other twin would get her power and destroy the group all in one go.
It was proof that the world was changing. One moment, Pittsburgh was setting itself up to be a hub of treachery and villainy; the next, every single strong, powered individual was dead in a matter of minutes. The girlfriend already had a power; she was the shield user of the two… That would mean her sister was the one who killed them all.
She had an incredibly strong composite power. All of her powers were much weaker than their singular counterparts, but with them all together, they were force multipliers. I only knew about it because her power made her extremely similar to a famous comic book hero… Now that I looked at her a little better, I could see it as well, except for the colorfully dyed hair, anyway.
Her sister was a pure blonde, while she had light blue dyed hair(the only way to tell them apart). Her natural color was already peaking through, making her look more like the superhero her powers closely resembled. Super girls. She could fly, not all that fast, fire lasers from her eyes, which were weak and only slightly burned, but the main power that made her so incredibly strong was her boosting power.
For a short time every day, she could enhance her other powers while also strengthening her body and senses beyond what they should be capable of. The moment her powers unlocked, she broke free of his mind control and killed all of the leadership of the group in the first enhancement of her power. Before anyone knew she was just a base human most of the time, everyone viewed her as one of the strongest people in the world.
She worked together with her sister to slowly dismantle what the villains in Pittsburgh were building… Before they both took their lives after it was finally done. After making sure no one else was suffering, they ended their own. It was a brutal, terrible way to go, but both of them were probably subjected to the worst kind of torture imaginable while under the effects of the mind control.
I couldn’t help but give her a smile as I approached, talking casually, I held my hand out to ask. “Hello, it’s nice to meet you. My name is Danny, what’s yours?” She looked me up and down before saying. “It’s Millie, but you can call me whatever you like, handsome.” “We’ll stick with Millie for now. So, what’s the plan now? I take it you’re going to follow your sister, right?”
“What do you mean?” “I mean, we came here to rescue Sophia’s sister; we have a safe place to stay if you want to come back with us.” She looked around again before sighing. “I’ve lived in Pittsburgh my whole life, I get it would take the fucking apocalypse to finally get me to leave.”
We kept talking, and it turned out this girl was a shut-in until the end of the world happened. Surviving mostly off the kindness of her sister and her girlfriend, she was fine going with the flow and was constantly making references to movies and games. I could tell she didn’t really know how to function in normal conversations as she hummed the Danny Phantom theme song, then got mad at me for not recognizing it…
The sexual tension between the two of us was intense, mainly because I understood most of her references. I could tell she was a virgin, or hadn’t had a boyfriend in a long, long time. We talked for a few hours, Sophia talking with her sister about what the two went through, as I tossed the bodies out of the windows in one of the rooms.
We decided to spread out and bunker down for the night; it was getting dark. The top floors of the hotel were a mess; many of the women were living in these rooms, two or three to a room, for weeks already. The ones under the tenth floor were in even worse condition, as they smelled like mold from the flood waters reaching up so high, even the cold snap wasn’t enough to kill off all the mold growing in the rooms.
We got ready in the stinky room we were given, after my two girlfriends and I were finished with our pre-bedtime workout… We had a knock on our door. It didn’t take a genius to figure out who would be interested in me as I opened the door.
