Chapter 29: Ch 29 kill
Klaus looked up, his gaze sweeping across the figures of multiple Yetis emerging from the shadows of the surrounding glaciers and icy crevices.
They moved with an ominous, silent intent, systematically fanning out to form a wide encirclement around him. The air grew colder, thick with the Yetis’ collective aura.
They were ready to kill the human who had dared to kill their children.
"Well, it seems you want to surround me," Klaus chuckled, a dry, humorless sound that carried a hint of dangerous amusement in the frigid air.
He was outnumbered by hundreds, but felt no fear.
With that, he drew out his sword, Lost Echo, its dark blade humming faintly in his hand, a subtle blue glow emanating from its blade.
Klaus stood poised, Lost Echo held ready, facing the hundreds of Yetis that had now completed their encirclement.
"Well, that youngling must be quite influential among Yetis," Klaus said, rubbing the flat of his sword’s blade with an air of confidence while standing in the centre of the encirlement as if ready to slaughter the chickens around him.
The Yetis, a formidable assembly of warriors, showed eerie, confident smiles on their faces, their sharp teeth bared. They seemed sure they would be able to hunt the young man in front of them, to avenge their fallen kin.
And why not? To their senses, the human only gave off the aura of a C-rank hunter, a mere ant in their eyes, easily overwhelmed by their numbers and strength. Their leaders, larger and more imposing, let out low growls, signaling their intent.
Klaus didn’t give them any more space to think or to coordinate their attack. He simply disappeared from where he stood. He had activated Phantom Veil, masking his presence completely, and simultaneously activated Apex Velocity, multiplying his speed by a thousand. This was a deadly combination, turning him into an undetectable, lightning-fast blur.
