Geometric Mage: First Spell, Circle

Chapter 44: Killing the Boss

Unlike fire, which exploded without issue and required no control, earth spells demanded active control. Lian had discovered this when he summoned the stone block as a shield. It required mana to maintain its active form.

Shaking his head and giving himself a light slap on the face, Freddy charged toward the impaled monster, his resolve hardened by the opportunity Lian had created.

His legs moved in a precise pattern as his hands gripped the greatsword. The runes on it glowed with brilliant green, a sign that whatever attack Freddy was about to unleash would be powerful.

But just as Freddy began to approach the monster, Lian lost control of the spell.

The stone spike that had pierced the worm vanished into blue particles, dissolving like a fleeting illusion, as the monster regained its freedom. A powerful roar shook the air, and the blood coagulated, ready to return to its body to heal the wound.

But at that very moment, Freddy arrived on the scene. His greatsword raised high, his muscles tensed. With a leap, the man landed precisely where the spike had pierced the monster’s body, his timing impeccable.

"Take this!" Just before the blood could reconnect with the worm’s body, Freddy’s sword sliced through the creature with terrifying power, a decisive blow that carried the weight of their survival.

An illusory green blade emerged from the greatsword, cutting through the worm’s entire body.

The cut was clean; the monster’s body split into two units as the blood that was about to reconnect with the wound lost its effect, exploding into the air.

Freddy was drenched in black blood, but he did not care. A triumphant smile hung on his face as he watched the two ends of the worm writhe in their final moments of life, a hard-won victory against a formidable foe.

"Kid, well done!" he said, giving a thumbs-up.
