Chapter 66: Death, Hugs, and Feet: The Essentials
The girls stared down at Finn, faces tense with worry—except Majestria, who just looked annoyed like she was inconvenienced by the whole him dying thing.
Finn rubbed his face, groaning. "This is too much... I don’t know if I can take any more of this."
Majestria crossed her arms, exasperated. "It’s your fault you died. I meant to knock you out—or at least exhaust you. But nooo, you had to go and actually die in the stupidest way possible."
Finn sat up and glared. "You were the one suffocating me?! So I really did die! I wasn’t unconscious—I was literally dead?!"
Majestria shrugged. "That’s what Lickthorn said. She kept insisting you weren’t breathing. Like—really insistent. I think she was about to do something to you. Chestelle said you were fine, but..."
Finn’s eyes widened in horror.
Slowly... he turned to Lickthorn.
For some damn reason, she was on the floor—lying on her back, arms behind her head, pulling her legs up with her tongue out like she was stretching or plotting murder.
They locked eyes.
Silence.
Finn wanted to say something.
But words... failed.
