Chapter 17: First Level Rune
Lukas, unaware of her thoughts, calmly reviewed the information for the first level rune creation.
Then, he started meditating to calm his mind.
After twenty minutes, he opened his eyes and started arranging the things in a small circle with three quadrants.
In the middle quadrant he poured the Lion King’s blood essence and a few other items. In the left quadrant, he poured dire wolf’s purified blood and similarly a few other items while in the right quadrant, he placed the rest of the items, leaving only the spirit soothing elixir and the ten Low Grade Mana Stones.
Oriana watched with nervous anticipation as he unhurriedly put three mana stones in each quadrant and the last one in the center.
Then, he suddenly produced a knife from his robes which made her heart skip a beat. ’Don’t tell me the Young Lord needs to harm himself for this... ritual?’
Knowing she would be worried, Lukas gave her a reassuring glance and gingerly placed the sharp edge of the blade on his palm before quickly sliding it back.
Hiss!
As the pain of blade cutting his palm hit his nerves, he hissed in pain and while mumbling something in an archaic language, he slowly dripped the blood on the circle.
Drip! Drip!
Initially, there was no change but after tenth’s drop fell on the circle, something shifted—the air in the room had become oppressive.
