Chapter 235: Family talk (1)
"You’ll come around to my plan at some point. I will speak to my aunt, but you will owe me for this. I might have to break her tiny heart."
"You don’t have to break it. Should we wait for your grandfather to arrive to know why he invited her? Wait, did he even know your mother is staying with us?" Selene realised another problem.
"He might not know, but it was still rude of him to invite someone without asking us. It sounds like we have more guests, so we can ask him now," Xavier said, holding Selene’s hand so they could walk together and to calm her.
"I will respectfully kick them out if needed," Xavier offered.
"I don’t believe anything you might do to get them out will be respectful. I know you too well," Selene replied.
Selene became even more nervous when she finally spotted Orlork Blackthorn. He was dressed in very casual attire, as though this was his home and he wasn’t out for dinner. He looked quite young for someone who was a grandfather.
Behind him was a man dressed as a servant and a woman who resembled Orlork.
"Hasn’t anyone told you it isn’t polite to show up with a guest who wasn’t invited? Recently waking up isn’t a good excuse," Xavier said, looking at his aunt, who somehow made it inside.
"I didn’t know I wasn’t invited by you. He said that I was welcomed," Camilla said, turning to her father for answers. "Had I known you didn’t invite me, I wouldn’t have come."
"She’s family," Orlork answered.
"I get a lot of our family at my doors, but that doesn’t mean I welcome them inside. While I like my aunt, she was at the gates with my father before. I don’t know if I can trust you around Selene yet," Xavier explained.
