Chapter 231: Teaming up (1)
"It is done." Darius kissed Vivienne’s hand. "Your father is out of the palace now. Just like I said I would do."
Vivienne smiled. "Thank you. I am sorry for putting you in this position. Now, my father will not only be angry with me but with you as well. Still, I think it was the right decision. He was getting in my ear, creating a rift in our marriage."
Darius still didn’t know what had occurred between Vivienne and Victor, but he was happy to see Vivienne come to her senses. They hadn’t argued since he promised to get rid of Victor, and she had stuck by his side.
"I will deal with your father if he tries to create trouble. I will protect you since you are my wife. Will you tell me now what he said to ruin our marriage? Did he speak of not voting for me?" Darius asked, curious if Victor was turning on him.
"No. My father will always vote for you because he wants me to sit as queen. It is other things that pushed me to want him gone. He would not listen to me and wasn’t treating me like I was his daughter. I had enough," said Vivienne.
Darius pulled Vivienne close for a hug. "You did the right thing. He must listen to you now. He may return only when he begs, and I don’t expect you to welcome him back so soon. I did see him getting between us like you said."
"I must also acknowledge what I did wrong. I’ve been unable to control my emotions when thinking about our next child. If we could just take a moment from thinking about another child and get close again, I think it would help our marriage," Vivienne suggested, placing her hand on his chest.
Darius grew suspicious. "You want to work on our marriage? Just like that? After everything you said recently, this doesn’t sound right. Is this Morgana playing a trick on me?" He asked, poking Vivienne’s face.
Vivienne moved his hand. "This is not your sister. I’ve grown tired of fighting with you, my father, your sister and everyone else. I just need one thing in my life to go right, and at the moment, I want my marriage to work. I would like to be more involved in matters of the kingdom."
