Chapter 159: Test (1)
"Your blood, Lady Blackthorn."
"Thank you, Harold. What would we ever do without you?" Selene said, taking the glass from the tray Harold held.
Harold did not respond but Selene did not mind it. He wasn’t a man of many words which Selene had gotten used to. She would be the talkative one to let Harold know how much she was grateful for him.
Selene tried not to laugh as she thought of when Harold approached her to apologise for moving around the boxes under the bed. It was the first time she saw him be so terrified as if he expected to be yelled at.
How could she ever be angry with Harold when he looked cute trying not to meet her eyes as he apologised?
Agnes was curious about what made Selene smile so much. "You are quite happy to see a glass of blood. It does smell wonderful."
"Oh," Selene set the glass down. "It is not the blood that makes me smile. I was thinking of Harold trying to apologise for moving the boxes. How could anyone think he is scary? It wasn’t anyone’s fault but mine. I didn’t tell you the right room."
"Still, I should have found a better place than under the bed. Perhaps it was fated in the stars for Lord Blackthorn to stumble upon it. We can now be better at hiding with the new shelves placed in your private room. It is a wonderful gift," Agnes said.
Agnes was surprised when she woke to news of Selene’s private room being rearranged by the lord’s order. It was a splendid gift since Selene had a room all to herself to do as she liked and no one could question what was placed here.
