Chapter 101: Plans (2)
In the late night hours, Vivienne sat up from the bed she had been lying on. She was annoyed by what she had to endure tonight to please their families. She hoped it was only this one night that she needed to become pregnant with a king and not another. She could not take another day lying with Darius after knowing how many he gave himself to.
Vivienne walked away from the bed where Darius still laid. She desperately needed to scrub her skin to get rid of his touch.
Darius laid peacefully while she was wide awake trying to forget their intimacy. It was always only fun for him since he focused on pleasing himself. For a man who slept around so often, Vivienne found it strange he was so terrible but then again, others would put up with it to find their way into the palace.
If the guards would listen to her, Vivienne would have them lift Darius out of her room and take him to his room but they would be too afraid.
She sat down to fix her appearance and to clear her mind. The events of the gathering had not left her mind. ’I need a new plan,’ she thought.
After Xavier’s threat today, Vivienne knew she couldn’t be seen when the other ladies would oust Selene. She was angry with his choice but Vivienne didn’t want to stop being friends with Xavier. She wanted to see him more often and hopefully, convince him to help her find a way to get away from Darius.
’The princess,’ Vivienne thought of the heartbroken young woman.
The princess was not over her failed engagement and was most likely more upset than anyone about Xavier’s marriage. The princess was never one to think about her actions since she believed being a royal made her untouchable.
It had been frustrating at first for Vivienne to get used to the idea of Xavier marrying the princess but now it would be quite useful. Xavier would go after the princess for targeting Selene but it would be Vivienne in the background helping Selene’s fall.
