Chapter 63: Fool (1)
"I knew you wouldn’t take it well at first but I’m sure you will come around to see why this is good for us and our kind in time. My children will wield many talents. It is not all about sleeping around. I have done that freely for years but this is more about my bloodline," Darius pleaded his case.
He showed he had some respect for Vivienne by not letting her hear about it from someone else. Wouldn’t that have hurt her more?
"I told you to get out. I don’t want to hear about your bloodline or how you think I will feel once I think it over. I want you out of my sight!" Vivienne yelled, not caring about who overheard the queen being loud with the king.
Darius sighed, annoyed by her temper now but at other times, it was that temper he liked to see. He knew she would come around which made this part of their conversation useless. Vivienne would always be his obedient queen.
Darius exited the room and stopped before Theresa. She truly was a beauty Vivienne kept too close. "Take care of the queen. See to it she gets all that she needs."
"I will, Your Majesty," Theresa promised. It wasn’t uncommon for the king to order her to take care of the queen but Theresa didn’t enjoy how long it took for him to look away from her.
Theresa’s body was more tense than usual and when she looked up, she avoided her gaze going wherever the king walked so he could not claim she showed interest in him.
Once the king and his servants were out of sight, Theresa entered the queen’s room and closed the door.
"The nerve of that man to want to officially take mistresses to the palace and expect that I will be fine with it. I knew my husband was a fool but this has opened my eyes to how much more of a fool he is. It is all his doing. It isn’t something his elders would just accept," Vivienne said, letting her frustration out.
