Chapter 201 - 196: Finally Gone
After Luo Honglan left, Fang Pingying noticed it was already getting late. Although there were still buses returning to the compound, the weather was cold with light snow falling. Worried about the road to the military base being difficult to navigate, she asked Luo Zhiyong, "You’ve taken a few days off; can you stay here another day tomorrow?"
Luo Zhiyong nodded but hesitated, "I do have leave, but I haven’t been back to the base for several days. I’m thinking of going back to see if there’s anything that needs attention."
Ever since his wife renovated the shop, he hadn’t even helped to look after it, delegating everything to her. He felt a bit guilty about this and planned to help her check the carpentry and tidy up the shop tomorrow.
Fang Pingying saw that he had been running around these past few days and wanted him to rest for a day, so she said, "There’s probably nothing urgent. If there was, Huang Lin would have certainly notified you by now."
Luo Zhiyong also felt there was nothing to worry about, "That’s true. Let’s not go back tonight then. We can go back to the compound together tomorrow."
"Are you going to follow up on Zhiming’s matter tomorrow?" Fang Pingying asked him.
Luo Zhiyong pondered for a moment, "I won’t go. I’ve already said my piece to that woman today, telling her I won’t be involved in this matter. Even if she seeks me out, it’s no use."
"Why not stay here tomorrow, and let Honglan accompany them? You can buy their tickets in the morning, and after that, directly take both our mothers to the train station to buy tickets for their trip home." Fang Pingying was worried that if Luo Zhiyong didn’t personally send them off, Zhou Yunmei might not leave so smoothly, "My shop needs to start working in the next few days as we’re opening soon."
What she meant was that she couldn’t start work with them around.
"Alright, I’ll buy the tickets in the morning, and then I’ll take them straight to the train station," Luo Zhiyong understood her meaning, and he shared Fang Pingying’s sentiment. Now he didn’t want anything else, but to just send Zhou Yunmei and the others off, hoping that would settle the matter.
