Chapter 104: Scary Wife, Devoured the Dinner
The tension didn’t dissolve. It simmered... beneath polite smiles and glittering cutlery.
Jared cleared his throat and leaned slightly forward, his voice still firm. "Why so sudden? I was pretty sure Logan never mentioned anything about romance going on between the two of you."
Jean didn’t flinch. "Really? Logan never told you he used to have feelings for me back in university?"
The silence snapped like a wire.
Hannah gasped, dramatically clutching her phone to her chest. "You two went to the same university? I knew it! I knew there was some weird, silent tension between you guys."
Jared’s brows furrowed as his gaze shifted from Jean to Logan. "So you were in love with him since then?"
Jean shook her head with measured calm. "No. I rejected him back then."
Beside her, Logan nearly choked on his wine. He swallowed hard and immediately poured himself another glass, fingers tight around the bottle.
Why the hell is she saying that?
Hannah burst into laughter. "So that’s why Logan used to get so annoyed every time your name came up. He was nursing a heartbreak!"
Martha blinked at her son, then gave him a soft, almost teasing look... like a mother catching her child red handed.
