Chapter 72: The Start of New Games
She took a shaky step forward... but her body refused. Even her own death needed more strength than she had left.
Her knees gave out and she collapsed onto the wet pavement. Scraping her skin against the concrete, she let out a cry... not of pain, but of rage. Tears mixed with the rain on her cheeks.
"I want to make them pay," she whispered.
Her hands clenched into fists, her nails digging into her own palms.
"They will have to suffer. Just like me."
That was when something caught her eye.
A flash of lightning split the sky, illuminating the world for one second... and in that second, her gaze locked onto a billboard across the street.
