Chapter 172: The Stone Is Melting
Not every demon is evil, Cordelia, just as not every angel is good. In this case, it is understandable that not every angel betrayed Michael and not every demon betrayed Lucifer. Many of them are fulfilling the tasks assigned to them.
[This is what happened when the war began. Atlas had drawn so much attention to himself over time that even the piece of soul he had given to Beelzebub could have made that great devil the new master of that false hell. This means that the attention he drew saved the devils and angels who were trying to save Lucifer or Michael.]
"So you’re saying..." Cordelia said suddenly. After reading all those writings, everyone paused and tried to make sense of what had happened.
[Billions of demons and angels were saved thanks to Atlas. When Michael died, you were released from the cage you were imprisoned in thanks to killing most of the great angels. Unfortunately, it was too late for everything. Atlas’s death and Chronos sending him back in time reset everything.]
"Billions of demons and angels... More than the world’s population could ever imagine. That alone explains why his karma is so high..." Cordelia said, her eyes fixed on the unconscious Atlas, and then asked, "What about the angels or demons? They don’t remember anything, do they?"
[Only those who are beyond the reach of time can remember, young lady. This applies to me, the mind of this dungeon, and my creator, Chaos. So no, while Atlas himself—the very reason the spell to travel back in time exists—remembers everything, the others have forgotten everything. Neither the angels nor anyone else.]
"I understand... That’s all I wanted to ask. Please leave Atlas and us alone," Cordelia said suddenly. With that, every single word in the sky disappeared, and only the words [So be it.] remained.
Immediately after these words appeared, a passageway formed a few metres away from the Sages.
Cassandra gently carried Atlas, who was unconscious in her arms, to her feet, and the other Sages followed her out of the portal.
