Chapter 110: I See Them
As everyone carefully turned towards the darkening sky, the church members in the coliseum, who worshipped many different gods and goddesses, paused in their excitement.
The sudden darkening of the sky was something they had seen many times before. Of course, everyone in the coliseum could more or less understand what was happening. Even those who had never seen such a thing before were familiar with the situation.
At that moment a light came from the centre of the Coliseum.
When all eyes turned to the light, or rather to the lights that were increasing in number every second, each person in the coliseum looked at the centre of the area.
Star symbols formed above Eva’s, Camellia’s and Aster’s heads.
Even Cordelia herself bowed her head in respect and stepped back, taking the Sages with her, as if to make way.
This event showed that the gods had made a choice.
Under normal circumstances, gods and goddesses chose their worshippers, often members of the church. Even if many of those chosen were not members of the Church, they were given a rank of honour. Depending on the power and seniority bestowed upon them, the power held by a rank of honour could even be equal to that of an Archbishop or even the Pope of the church.
Perhaps five years had already passed since the last time the gods or goddesses had chosen someone.
And now, not just one, but three people had star symbols on them.
Atlas, on the other hand, had the same strange smile on his face that he always had. Cordelia and the other Sages had seen that expression, unlike everyone else watching what was happening. Still, each of them couldn’t do anything but stare at each other.
