Chapter 20: Not Even Close
Facing the duo, Atlas held the holy sword in his hand as tightly as he could, and with a single movement, he avoided the blades of one of the attackers and plunged his sword into the other attacker.
In just a few seconds, the holy sword itself was thrust into the abdomen of one of the assassin attackers. There was such a massive outpouring of blood. Although Atlas had not yet removed the holy sword from his body, the snow that had fallen on the earth had turned red.
While the attackers were trying to understand what was happening with great astonishment, Atlas did not even use the holy sword in his hand and threw his hand to the other attacker, grabbed the attacker by his clothes and threw him to the snow-covered ground.
At that moment, he pulled the holy sword, which was covered with blood, out of his body and stabbed the fallen assassin right in the chest.
In less than fifteen seconds, two assassins were dead. It was incredibly fast for them to react. At that moment, Atlas' voice was heard:
"You should have waited until we were asleep, a group of assassins fighting so badly, it's unbelievable."
His words were quite true. In his previous life,e they had attacked just as they were about to set off, but this time it had happened much faster. This meant that something had indeed changed, or that the timing of the events of his previous life could have been altered in a tit-for-tat fashion.
Still, none of that mattered at the moment.
Atlas lunged forward again, but this time he ignored the two remaining swordsmen and dodged between them. His target was the two mages standing directly behind each attacker.
