Chapter 83: Six years ago
"Where are you taking me?" Jazmine Harris asked as the car sped through the streets.
"You promised I could take you to the terrace of the Sunset Square in the future," Sebastian Crowne replied, his voice smooth and unwavering. "Why not go there today and find a better spot for tomorrow?"
"I don't recall making any such promise," Jazmine remarked, her eyes narrowing slightly. This President Crowne—the so-called 'Devil' in business circles—was nothing like the ruthless man she had heard about in rumors.
"You said I lived up to my reputation," she continued. "But I can't say the same about you."
Sebastian glanced at her, amusement flickering in his gaze. "The version of me you see... is not the one I show to the rest of the world."
"Should I be flattered by that?" Jazmine laughed, shaking her head.
Though she had told Sebastian that she had suspected his identity from the beginning, the truth was, she hadn't fully believed it until he admitted it himself. Thankfully, even in her suspicions, she had never done anything to disrespect him.
"Why are you so determined to take me there?" she asked. "You've mentioned it twice now—once on the terrace, and again during dinner."
Sebastian remained silent.
As they approached the towering Sunset Square skyscraper, Jazmine couldn't shake the feeling that something significant awaited her at the top.
Once they arrived, Sebastian led her up to the terrace.
