Chapter 54: Truth draws closer
After a long argument and a few threats by Dominic Tang, her grandfather succeeded in taking her to her apartment and put her to complete bed rest. When Jazmine Harrison sneakily called Emily Carrol to bring her some files to review, she was caught by her grandfather. He strictly forbade Emily Carrol from bringing her anything work-related. Jazmine Harrison was jumping from channels to channels while sprawling over the couches, utterly bored. Ever since she had returned to her life, she hadn't spent such an idle day.
One day you hand such a big corporate in my hands and ask me to manage it on my own and second day you baby me like a child.
Her grandfather was such a capricious character. She didn't know how he even saw her? An efficient woman who could manage a mega-conglomerate on her own? Or a spoiled careless girl who needed constant pampering. She sighed and picked up her cell to browse when the television wouldn't provide her any entertainment.
She was astonished to find all the media openly accusing Caroline Anderson of the murders. From the latest discovery, it was revealed that it was Caroline Anderson's manager who had sent people to get the CCTV recordings cleared. Originally, the Anderson family could cover it up. But the case had gotten too much attention from the public and government. So things were dangerous for the Anderson family right now. And despite countless efforts, the police couldn't recover the recordings. So obviously, she was the top suspect.
Would Lucian Smith have recovered the recordings? Thinking about it, Jazmine Harrison gave him a call.
"Lucian Smith, what is your progress?"
"President, I just recovered the videos."
"Found something interesting?"
"As President had predicted, the killers were professionals. It was just the two of them. They filled the room with some anesthetic gas... From the timing and yellow color, I suspect it was Halothane. They were wearing masks so no clue of their faces and once all the chefs were unconscious, they killed them noiselessly one by one by specifically cutting their jugular vein in the neck region. They wore hand gloves, so also no fingerprints. I'm currently looking for groups with similar ways of killing. Once the professionals are found, I'll go and look for who had bought their service recently. Then I might come up with the real culprit."
