Chapter 39: Meeting at the office
"What nonsense!" Rosaline slammed her fists on the table, scrunching the newspaper before throwing it away angrily.
"You old fool! Do you have no brain in you? Why would you allow them to bring this filthy newspaper to me?! Are you trying to provoke me?! It must be—" she seethed. "You've always liked that bitch! You must have done this on purpose!"
The butler remained calm. "Youngest Miss, this is the routine newspaper they deliver daily."
"Then why do I see that bitch's face on it?! I don't want to see her disgusting face ever!"
"Miss, I'll be more cautious from now on."
He quietly took away the torn newspaper.
On the front page, there was a large image of Jazmine Harrison.
The article praised her for her charity work—how she had opened a small shop in the slums to feed the homeless and provide medical aid for orphans.
Page after page was filled with people admiring her actions.
The butler smiled inwardly but kept his face neutral.
"Tian'er, rest easy," Scarlette Whites consoled her daughter. "We will get back at her for what she did."
