Riley Ross

Chapter 60: The Day’s Only Just Beginning

Telekinesis. Voted the fourth most desired superpower by the public according to Times Magazine. The issue even featured an interview with several telekinetics, each agreeing that the hardest part of their power was moving something they couldn’t see.

They didn’t mean things behind them—that could be managed with enough practice.

They meant objects behind walls, locked in containers... or hidden within the human body.

According to Riley’s research, in the entire recorded history of supers, the number of telekinetics capable of moving unseen objects could be counted on two hands.

And of course, one of them was his biological mother—the strongest telekinetic the world had ever seen.

Ms. Phoenix. Alice Lane.

And now, Riley joins that list.

He could feel it: the heartbeat of one of Steph’s friends. Not all of them at once, no. But... one would have to be enough.

He inhaled deeply, his finger twitching as he reached out with his mind—grasping for that one, single heart.

"...Oh?" But the moment he did, his vision flickered. Darkness swept in around him. Before his body could collapse, he quickly pulled his power back.

I am still weak... from the fight with Silvie. Is this it? Is it over? Am I going to get caught?
