Chapter 175: Sandro’s odd findings
Meanwhile, while Althea and Azrael were chatting by the door, Knox stirred from his sleep, blinking sleepily as he glanced around. He could hear their conversation; it was faint but comprehensible.
His entire face flushed after eavesdropping on the two alphas’ last exchanges of answers. His heart beat erratically, and he shuffled in his position awkwardly, gaining Knoa’s attention who was engrossed with his white stuffed toy.
"Papa...did I wake you?" Knoa asked carefully and quietly. He set aside his favorite toy and hugged his father, tapping his chest to make him sleep again. His little taps weren’t even felt underneath the thick blanket that covered Knox.
Knoa blinked and yawned.
Knox caressed the kid’s back and whispered, "Knoa, don’t sleep yet. We still need to eat dinner. What time is it anyway? Why are we here? Did your Daddy bring us here?"
The little kid answered, "Yep. Daddy carried Papa; Knoa carried by Aunt Thea."
"Hey there, sleepyhead," a voice light and playful interrupted their conversation. Knox and Knoa looked up at the approaching Azrael with their sleepy faces. Azrael paused for a moment, he pondered why everyone was saying Knoa was his carbon copy, when at that moment, the two faces, looked very much alike.
He chuckled. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he helped Knox sit up while he asked, "You were sleeping so deeply that you didn’t even feel the cold in the garden. Why are you lying on the ground when there’s a large couch enough to fit you?"
Knox laughed guiltily, scratching his head in that foolish act. Still, he explained casually, "When I saw the blanket, I just lay down for a minute, but I didn’t expect to fall asleep. I guess, the three didn’t want to wake me up or maybe they did, but I just didn’t wake up. Anyway, I feel refreshed! I must have been so tired."
