Chapter 100: Busted
[WARNING: SEXUAL ABUSE AHEAD] [I’m not sure if this warning would be necessary given the story is already rated mature, but I’m still putting it just to be safe. If you’re uncomfortable, you may skip the part :) it’s not so explicit though^^]
Kayden’s foot tapped the floor in a rapid movement. His forehead was sweating so much the room might as well smell like him. When the door opened and a woman’s head peeked inside, Kayden quickly looked away and pretended like he was fixing his tie.
"Mr. Del Valle, the chairman has arrived. The wedding will begin now. Please, follow me. I’ll guide you to the event hall."
The female staff gestured her hands forward. Kayden nodded, giving Roy a meaningful look. As they walked down the hallway, Kayden whispered to Roy who walked behind him, "Tell me what should I do once uncle recognized me?"
Roy adjusted his earpiece and mouthed, "Run. We will guide you out."
Kayden grimaced. What was the point of wearing a wig and contact lenses if he’d just run away as soon as he entered? Some people might not recognize him, but Rage will surely do. The question would be – if Rage would proceed with the wedding and pretend like he saw nothing while fuming inside, or shout at the moment he recognized Kayden and embarrass the family.
Kayden prayed it would be the latter.
Soon, they arrived at the big doors of the event hall. The female employee turned to him, quite taken aback after getting a proper and closer look at his face.
Kayden could tell the woman was confused because she even made a second look at him. He imitated Azrael’s cold and domineering gaze and gave it to the woman, who then flinched and anxiously bowed her head.
"T-The door will be open in a minute, sir. You have to march until you reach the stand in the very front and wait for the bride. The bride will follow after."
Kayden inhaled deeply and let out a nervous sigh. The door was pushed open by two male staff and Kayden began to walk. Soft music was played in the background, and all heads turned to him, including the man he dreaded to see.
