Chapter 409: Uncover The Truth
At Lamey Doctors Hospital, Lamey Country
Arlan paced in the pristine hospital hallway of the hospital. His usually calm demeanor was shattered, replaced with restless energy. He raked a hand through his dark hair, his eyes darting toward the double doors of the diagnostics lab every few seconds.
David, his trusted assistant, stood nearby, quietly observing his rare display of vulnerability.
"They’re taking too long," Arlan muttered under his breath, glancing at the clock on the wall.
Every passing minute felt like an eternity. His wife’s sudden collapse had turned his world upside down, and the lack of answers only intensified his frustration.
David cleared his throat, breaking the tense silence. "Sir, this facility is known for its cutting-edge technology and expertise. They’ll have answers soon."
For weeks, no doctor in their country had been able to explain why his wife had suddenly fallen into a coma. All her test results appeared normal, yet she remained unresponsive, as if trapped in an unexplainable void. The greatest medical minds in their country had tried and failed to find answers.
Arlan stopped pacing, his sharp gaze locking onto Summers. "Soon isn’t good enough. She’s been unconscious for weeks, David. No one back home could figure out what’s wrong, and now we’re here, in one of the most advanced hospitals in the world, and still-"
He cut himself off, exhaling heavily as he forced himself to calm down.
David nodded, understanding his turmoil. "The doctors here are thorough, Mr. Cartier. They wouldn’t take this long unless they were uncovering something important."
Before Arlan could respond, the double doors swung open, and a specialist in a white coat stepped into the hallway. The man’s expression was composed but serious, and Arlan’s heart sank. He could tell immediately that the news wasn’t going to be easy.
