Chapter 350: Latest Interview
At Lancaster Group Building
Alexander stood in his office, his gaze fixed on the bulletin board where his legal team had outlined their strategy against anyone spreading malicious rumors about him and Rain. He scanned the details, his lips curling into a satisfied smirk. "Let’s see if anyone still dares to speak about this," he muttered, exhaling deeply.
His eyes wandered to Rain’s picture frame on his desk. Memories of the previous night flooded his mind, her vulnerability, her trust. He had come so close to losing control. Rain had been too submissive, and too trusting, and it left him conflicted. He didn’t want to take advantage of her, not without being sure of his own feelings.
"Why am I torturing myself like this?" he grumbled under his breath, running a hand through his hair. The emotions swirling inside him were a confusing mix of desire, guilt, and something deeper he wasn’t ready to name.
His thoughts were interrupted by Dion bursting into the room, his expression grim. "Boss, we have a problem," Dion announced, handing Alexander a tablet.
Alexander took it, his brow furrowing as he pressed play on the screen. The video of Carla’s interview began to play, her poised demeanor filling the frame.
"We all know you were previously in a relationship with Alexander Lancaster, the CEO and Vice Chairman of Lancaster Group, five years ago. Now that you’re back, is there a possibility of rekindling that relationship?" the host asked, leaning in with interest.
Carla smiled faintly, tilting her head just enough to seem coy. "But Xander is already married now," she replied, her tone dripping with feigned modesty.
"Well, we’ve heard rumors that his marriage to his current wife is just a contract," the host continued. "There’s even been a leak suggesting the contract stipulated their marriage would last only four months."
