"Stop bugging me, William. Let’s start eating!" Alexander grumbled.
"That’s enough, William. Go back to your seat, and the same goes for you, Alyssa," Father Rock said firmly. "Now that everything is cleared up, let’s focus on dinner so everyone can rest early."
Dinner began in deafening silence, and no one dared to break it.
Meanwhile, Rain’s thoughts wandered back to that Saturday night with Alexander, replaying the moment he might have noticed her mole. It wasn’t easily visible, even when her hair was up in a bun or ponytail. Only someone looking closely, like William had done earlier, would have seen it at all.
