Chapter 367: The Pact
"Why do you not want four children?" Talia couldn’t understand.
"Let me tell you something." Arthur lay beside her and gently rubbed her back. "You know there are some rumours about the Brunton Curse? That the Brunton family is cursed to have only one heir a generation?"
"I know...But do you believe it?" Talia had heard about it. As far as she knew, her grandpa is an only child and so was his father. Her grandma died during her second pregnancy and so did her mother. If she thinks this way, the rumours cannot be dismissed as baseless.
"Your grandpa talked about surrogacy before he left for Rosandale."
"Whoa! He said we should use a surrogate?" Talia knew her grandpa is rather superstitious and wasn’t surprised he had such idea.
But he kept on saying he wanted triplets. What is that about?
"No, he insinuated it. But I know you won’t agree. He knows it too. He just threw that idea out in the open to say he’s not against it."
"You’re right. I don’t agree on having a surrogate carry our child unless I have no chance of carrying a child." Talia didn’t want to talk about it further. Motherhood is something she wants to experience. Especially after seeing Rebecca, she wanted to experience it much sooner.
"I know. I want you to carry our child too. I don’t want some other woman carry my child even though it would be yours too. I want to take care of you when you’re pregnant and want to hold your hand when you give birth. I want to handle your mood swings and run to the shop to buy the ice cream you crave in the middle of the night."
Arthur chuckled as he imagined Talia with a big belly and screaming at him.
It would be nice.
