Chapter 290: The Knight’s Journal (3)
Arthur wondered if Cyrus was actually calculative in everything he did, what purpose did he have when he gave him the proof of what Ray did to that exchange student. He even asked Talia to be careful of Ray.
Were we manipulated too?
Arthur turned the pages to almost near the end. He really didn’t want to read Cyrus’ thoughts anymore. It made him feel very uncomfortable. He just wanted to read about Cyrus’ connection with Ray and lock this journal away.
There it was... The appearance of Cyrus’ beast again. During the third year of high school, Talia started spending more time with Arthur. It was at this time Cyrus had formulated many plans to make Talia return to him. He didn’t like the beast and since his Princess was the only one who can frighten the beast, he wanted her with him.
The text message Cyrus sent when he said that he had thought about ways to break Talia... It was not just lies to convince the other side.
Cyrus actually had thought about it! The exact same plan... To break her, he should make her kill him.
The beast in Cyrus wanted her to suffer and Cyrus wanted his suffering to end and in the end, both Cyrus and his beast had agreed on this plan in one of his deranged musings.
Reading it all, Arthur wondered how no one was able to see through Cyrus. He always looked confident, charming and his grandiose demeanour never made anyone doubt him.
Even Talia who was very close didn’t see Cyrus for who he was - A troubled, hurt guy with no love in his heart for anyone but him.
Yes, he said he loved Talia. But why? He wanted her to control his beast. He wanted her to be the pure deity he worshiped and adored as his princess.
But secretly he wanted to destroy her too.
