Chapter 264: Different Plans
A friend she trusted did that, huh? That must have hurt a lot more. And what she went through after that....
Talia knows what it is like to be locking oneself up, trying to self-soothe. She has practical experience and it is not a nice thing. She wouldn’t wish that on her worst enemy.
And Celine’s story made Talia wonder...
It was not in Celine’s record she looked at. Her family should have tried very hard to keep it from getting recorded. They must have tried to protect her.
Everyone has some trouble they face in their life and some secrets they keep. For some it is simple hurdles they face in their day-to-day life and for some it is some trauma they had suffered in the past. Some face deep struggles on a daily basis. But everyone should have a shoulder to lean on.
"You’ve suffered too, right? They tried to keep it a secret, but I know you volunteered to commit in a-"
" Mental asylum? Yes, " Talia smiled wryly. It is the truth and she knew many of the aristocrats knew about it. "For depression."
"Why didn’t you have many girl friends?" Celine knew the situation has gone very serious right now and it won’t be good for both to be sulking and promptly spoke in a joyous tone.
"I always had this guy... This cool guy who was the best in basketball, around me. And there was this other guy who all women wanted whether they admitted or not... Cyrus. So I guess jealousy? Or maybe... I was not very keen on making friendships either. You see, when I was thirteen, my ’best friend’ and her family almost got me kidnapped for money. So I stayed away from girls. And I don’t know why boys didn’t talk to me either. Maybe I was ugly? " Talia laughed and Celine laughed along.
Celine although knew a bit about Cyrus’ story didn’t know Talia was betrayed by her friend in the past too. Somehow she felt her bond strengthen after hearing what Talia said.
" What a couple of losers we are! " she said and Talia nodded.
