Chapter 259: Honesty Is The Best Policy
Talia has received many confessions and most of them would be asking for a dinner date or asking her for a concert and that kind of things. Most tried to just ask her out.
There aren’t many who had confessed love to her with as much sincerity as Walter. Those who confessed to her sincerely, she had dated them. Yeah... Her three ex- boyfriends. Who turned out to be lying cheaters!
And none of them said they had crush on her for five years! Five frigging years! That’s a long time to have a crush on someone. How did he even keep it a secret?
Talia didn’t doubt Walter. He stood in front of her, with his back straight and she could see his fingers trembling out of nervousness, as his lips tried to smile. He tried to hide it by fixing his cuffs and tie, but he seemed clumsy as he tried to act cool.
He is honest! What do I do?
Talia felt her heart beat racing. Not because she was touched by his words and she developed feelings towards him, but because she didn’t know how to properly reject such a sincere confession.
And this is the guy Celine likes! She cannot hurt him. If in the future Celine and him ends up together, Talia didn’t want him and her to have any hard feelings between them. Celine is one of her friends after all. If she doesn’t have a good relationship with Celine’s partner, it will definitely affect their friendship. And if she doesn’t handle this delicate subject properly, she might lost Celine’s friendship too.
It takes a lot of courage to confess, Talia knew. She had tried to confess to Fred in her high school days and failed, and so in the end decided not to, cooking up a hundred reasons to not confess. And it is one of the reasons she always tried to be polite rejecting the guys who confessed to her.
And just like confessing needs a lot of courage, to reject an honest confession requires a lot of strength too. Just politeness is not enough and she struggled to find the right words to say to him.
Walter looked down at Talia, biting her lips and it was obvious she was stressed as he saw her fiddling with her fingers. Her eyes weren’t on him and she was nervous.
Her face didn’t have any happiness of receiving a confession; nor a look of awe. But she looked like she was in deep struggle.
