Talia felt the bed sinking by her side and turned to look at Arthur, sitting beside her. His eyebrows were relaxed, making her feel warm.
When she talked about the letter to Rebecca, at that time it felt very important for her, but then she realised if Mr. Ed knew about it, he’d have finished the job perfectly. She need not bother herself. Also, it is just a letter. Rebecca can get the letter in the morning even if her staff forgot to give the letter.
But Fred would be leaving in the morning and each minute is precious for them.
She looked in his eyes, clear like emerald looking at her, with love. It always was this way, wasn’t it? The way he looks at her.
He loves me and I can see it in his eyes.
Her eyes travelled through that tall nose and to his lips now having a gentle smile. She sometimes wondered how a short tempered guy like him, could always understand her and be patient with her.
It should be love, right? Only love can turn an imperfection to perfection and make one a better human. It is his love for her that makes him patient with her. Others can’t expect that courtesy from him.
It’s because I’m special in his heart.
She couldn’t help but smile.
Arthur picked a little strand of hair hanging on her cheek and fixed it behind her ears. He didn’t know what his little Iris was thinking, but she’d been staring at him for a while. He placed his hand on her cheek.
Seeing the little smile on her face, he got reminded of the photograph in her bedroom back in her apartment. She looked exactly the same. He remembered her saying that she was thinking of him when the photograph was taken.
