Stand By Me Darling

Chapter 119: New Headline

Talia leaned back on the couch deciding to read the emails she received. The past couple of days, after returning from the airport, Rebecca spent her time either cooking or sleeping.

Apparently since Rebecca was put on the watch list, she cannot cross state borders without alerting Joe through the road either and so she decided to stay put.

As someone who cooks to relieve stress, Rebecca cooked a feast everyday and so Talia shared the food with her neighbours who are also her securities.

Even though she was just getting closer to ten weeks of pregnancy, Rebecca had gained a couple of pounds already.

As Rebecca spent her time sleeping, Talia had consulted with Mr. Ed to see if it would be appropriate for her to get more involved with her responsibilities. She also wanted to know what it entails if she decides to go all in her role as a Princess Royal.

It seemed like a lot of work. A lot of travelling, hosting and attending dinners, getting photographed; all in all a lot of time in the public eye.

Talia’s resolve wavered a bit realising how tedious the task of being a Royal is. She is basically an introvert who loves privacy. But the Royal life is exactly the opposite and once she enters, all eyes will be on her and they will scrutinise her every move. She has to be thick skinned to cope with the criticisms thrown at her.

Even discussing this topic made Mr. Ed happy and he was beaming as he explained everything she has to do. Only Talia felt a bit scared. But he seemed to be understanding of her. Everyone knows of her past and her character and Mr. Ed assured her it won’t be that bad and she will be able to handle it since she’d be having a lot of support by her side and the Royal family will be able to protect her privacy too.

Talia knew the PR run by the Royal family can manage what she asks of them, yet still she decided to take her time in deciding. Because once she decides to step into that new world with important responsibilities, she cannot back off.

Talia rubbed her glabella reading an email from her former colleague that Joe is not coming to the office these days and there are questions raised and confusion among the workers. Apparently Rachel Crawley is the one with the highest authority now and managing the firm but no one wants to listen to her.

Well! That’s to be expected!
