Standing outside the study, He Yunxiao considered using his sharp hearing to eavesdrop on the two misses inside. After a brief thought, he decided against it. Even in ancient times, a man had to respect his wives' privacy.
He figured he had been wandering around for quite a while. If Sister Du hadn't managed to persuade Sister Ziruo by now, relying on her to do so was likely a lost cause.
He Yunxiao didn't want Sister Du to force herself for his sake, much less cause a rift between the two sisters over this matter.
Instead, he pretended not to know Sister Du was inside and knocked on the door. "Ziruo, I'm back."
The women's voices abruptly stopped at his knock.
Soon after came Fan Ziruo's unfailingly gentle voice: "Come in, Young Master."
With permission granted, He Yunxiao pushed the door open and entered.
"Miss Ziruo. Miss Yinyun."
